"I Need a Savior" - Wayburn Dean

"I Need a Savior"
Wayburn Dean
music and lyrics by: Waburn Dean

Verse 1:
Standing alone in the night
Only You and me to my delight
You said to me you’re not alone
I needed to hear You Lord I cried
And I need You here right by my side
There’s no other to whom I belong
I give You my heart and my soul
My hope is growing cold

Chorus:
I need a Savior, a Savior
Whose love will never fade away
I need a Savior, a Savior
With all my heart Lord I say
I need a Savior

Verse 2:
Lord I need You in my heart
Without You I fall apart
There are times when it’s all too much
Again I failed to make the mark
Display in me Your work of art
Here I am, and I need Your touch
I give You my heart and my mind
Jesus You will find

Chorus

Bridge:
A wonderful Savior You are to me
Don’t deserve the love you’ve given me
How can it be that You’d intercede and love me still
Sovereign Lord, You’re forever there
To You none other can compare
Help me to see, that You live in me

Wayburn Dean needs no introduction. His last four singles have all climbed into the Top 10 on both CRW and R&R…three of these songs climbed into the Top 5 including the title cut from Wayburn’s latest release “Through the Rain.” The bottom line is that you know your listeners love Wayburn’s music and are impacted by the message and ministry he brings. That impact will only increase with the release of Wayburn Dean’s much anticipated new single “I NEED A SAVIOR” going for adds THIS FRIDAY!
Webster defines “Savior” as: one that saves from danger or destruction, or one who brings salvation.
I’m sure you’ve heard the joke: There once was a flood and everyone had reached safety except for one man. He climbed to the top of his house with the water lapping at his feet. A helicopter flew over his head and hung down a rope for him to climb, but the man was deeply religious and said, "It's alright! The Lord will save me!" So the helicopter flew away. The water continued to rise and a boat came to him but, once again, the man shouted, "No! Go AWAY! the Lord will come and save me!" and, once again, the boat sped off. The water was getting dangerously deep by now so the helicopter came back and, on cue, the man repeated, "I don't need saving! My Lord will come." Reluctantly, the helicopter left. The rain continued to pour, the water continued to rise and the man drowned. At the gates of heaven, the man met St. Peter. Confused, he asked, "Peter, I have lived the life of a faithful man - why did my Lord not rescue me?" St. Peter replied, "For pity sake! He sent you two helicopters and a boat!"
On a much more serious note, the day will come when many people, some very religious, will stand before God exclaiming that they thought their good deeds or just being a nice person would save them. But we know that’s not enough.
Romans 3:23-24 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
We need a Savior! That truth is undeniable. And yet it’s a truth that we can never stop proclaiming to our lost and dying world…and listeners!
According to Barna research, 28% of your listening audience is made up of non-Christians! The message of “I Need a Savior” needs to be proclaimed to these listeners. Of course, the message will also become an anthem for your listeners who know Christ and have already accepted Him as their Savior!
Give “I Need a Savior” from Wayburn Dean a listen today. I know you’ll be impacted by the song’s message. I also love this song because, perhaps more than any single to date, it highlights Wayburn’s incredible and gifted vocal. The message of this song is so important and it’s emphasized and communicated by Wayburn with the passion it deserves.
“I NEED A SAVIOR” from WAYBURN DEAN is going for YOUR add THIS Friday, August 22!
